American League:
Red Sox. Arguably the best team in decades. Starting pitching is strong. Best offense i may have ever seen. Its amazing how many injury’s the Sox have had and still are demolishing the league. Chris Sale is the Cy Young front runner and has been on the DL for a while now but David Price has really picked up the “ace” status while he has been out, he has been lights out. Book the Sox to the World Series
Indians. In the weak as fuck AL Central, the Indians are also dealing with injury’s to their pitching staff, which when healthy is arguably the best in the majors. Corey Kluber has a strong case to win the Cy Young this year, which it really seems like every year he is in the conversation. Trever Bauer who is one of my favorite pitchers in the MLB goes down with a leg injury, hopefully he gets back in time for the playoffs. Just keep him away from his drone fetish come playoff time. Danny Salazar, who is one of the most electric pitchers in the game has not really been able to display his talents lately. Last year he goes down right before the playoffs, this year he goes down and has shoulder surgery, its a shame but hopefully Danny boy comes back strong as ever. The Indians are as scary as anyone in the league, it all depends if the team is healthy or not. Offense wise, Michael Brantley, Frankie Lindor and MVP candidate Jose Ramirez are carrying this team, nasty middle of the lineup. Do not count them out come playoff time.
A’s Who saw this coming? We all thought the Astros would run away with this division. All that young talent, a dominant pitching staff who only got better this year, a wash that the ‘stros would run away with the crown. Wait a fucking second here, the Athletics have something to say about that. Last year the A’s showed they could make some noise. This year it has really come into fruition. Khris Davis leads the league in HR’s, Matt Chapman is a gold glove canidate at 3rd base and a monster at the dish. Jed Lowrie, having an amazing season himself, he really came out of nowhere with his production this year. Matt Olson is nothing to fuck with either, the middle of this A’s lineup is nothing to look past, i know they don’t have the BIG names running through the lineup but goddamn these kids are dangerous. Oh yeah, Sean Manaea threw a no-no this year. Their bullpen has been the best in the league this year. Down a few runs after the 6th? good fucking luck, they will shut you down. Billy Ball at its finest. Wouldn’t be surprised if they wind up in the World Series…. This is my darkhouse to make a run this year.
WildCard Game
Astros vs Yankees
Verlander vs Severino. Im taking Verlander all day on this. Verlander has proved that he can pitch in these high pressure situations and he come up ACES most of the time. If the Astros are healthy come playoff time, they are as good as any team in the MLB, but thats a big if. On the Yankees side of this game, i don’t really know who they are gonna throw in this 1 game playoff. Severino has been horrible as of lately, and Tanaka has really stepped up and has been throwing well lately. If i was Aaron Boone i would throw Severino with a VERY VERY short leash. I ultimately think Verlander goes the distance and shuts them down. Sorry Yankee nation, maybe next year. Go grab another MVP and maybe you will have a shot.
Winner: Astros
World Series pick……. Oakland Athletics
